Best Jio APN Settings for High-Speed Internet for 4G/5G

For Android smartphones, follow the settings configuration below

• Go to the settings section on your Android smartphone
• Navigate to the ‘Mobile network‘ option
• If you have inserted multiple SIMs, selectthe  Jio SIM from there
• You can see all of the SIM settings options.
• Select the Access point names option
• Generally, there is an automatically selected “Jio” access point setting. Tap on it to expand

Enter the following fields, or check whether the fields are like this

MCC and MNC are the mobile country code and the mobile network code, which are 2/3 digit codes for the network operator in a specific country. If you are using a Jio network, make sure that the digits are 405 and 862, respectively.

Additional settings

• Authentication Type: Not set
• APN type – Default, supl, xcap
• APN protocol – IPv4/APv6

Important: When you are using the default APN settings configured by the Jio network, the server field may not be set. Here we are setting it as www.google.com, used for MMS routing and proxy based configuration.

So, setting this parameter on a smartphone may not have any additional benefits, while using old-model multimedia phones, it may enhance internet speed.

Set Bearer Configuration (Lock Bearer to LTE Only)

This is not set by default, but when we configure this field, we will get high speed internet without shifting the mobile network from 5G to 4G.

When you go to the Jio apn settings and configuration panel, the Bearer settings should be in Default mode. Tap on it to set.

You can see different options like LTE, HSPAP, HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS, etc. Set it to LTE (Long Term Evolution), so that the mobile network will be locked with LTE and provide maximum internet speed.

Turn OFF Smart 5G settings

Exploring additional settings regarding the Jio APN for smooth and fast internet. Here, check the additional mobile network settings on your mobile phone. While checking there, you can see the Smart 5G option.

Turn it OFF.

Why?

The Smart 5G settings are used to reduce the battery consumption of your mobile smartphone by switching the internet between 4G and 5G. When you turn OFF this settings, your mobile will not switch to 4G automatically even when there is 5G available. And the result is high speed internet. Enjoy 🙂

Preferred Network Type

Make it 5G/4G/3G/2G (Auto). This will prevent the mobile network from shifting to a 4G network. When you set it like this, your mobile will only receive 5G signals, and only move to the 4G network, if and only if there are no 5G signals in range.

Do not blame APN ttings all the time

Sometimes there should be an error in the network connection. So, do not always blame Jio APN settings when you experience a slow connection. The network may go offline, experience weak signals, etc. So wait a few minutes to see if the constant connection is established. Check the signal bars to check the signal strength.

Additional tips to get fast Jio Internet

• Enable True 5G:- With the prepaid plan 349 and above, you’ll get unlimited 5G data with your Jio mobile. When you do recharges at a lower price, there is a limit on using the data. When you switch to TRUE 5G, you’ll get unlimited data seamlessly.
• Restart your phone:- To refresh the network, switch off your mobile phone and turn it ON again. Your network will register newly and will be stable with the network connection.
• Switch to 5G mobile: If you are still using 4G mobile, it is better to switch to 5G network. You’ll only get the TRUE 5G offer from Jio if you are using 5G smartphone. If you are using a 4G phone and recharges plan above 349 INR to get 5G, it will not work. You only get limited data according to the plan that you have chosen.
• Put SIM on VoLTE Slot:- It is highly advisable to put the SIM on the VoLTE (Voice over Long Term Evolution) slot on the mobile. Some old model smartphones have two options, such as non-VoLTE and VoLTE. In most cases, the SIM slot 1 will be the VoLTE slot.
